An article on Variety.com today pretty much confirms what has been brewing in the speculation pot the past few months: a new, and how could it possibly be improved upon, American Gladiators will be airing on NBC sometime in the next year. Come on though–people, it’s a different world out there. A world that makes it virtually impossible to recapture the steroid-fueled optimism that made the original so good.

No way. This is going to rule. The retardedness of certain television programming can make for a much more relaxed lifestyle. I happen to enjoy the fact that I live in a society where food comes easily, giving the leisure time necessary for the production of such beautiful mindlessness.
