Switch Double Backflip? No Thanks.

Yes, this blog has officially been hijacked for the winter by my inner ski bumm. Sorry, but that’s what I feel like writing about.

In the video below is one of the ballsiest, most unnatural ski hucks (tricks) I’ve ever seen. It’s a switch double backflip; which is just plain crazy. A switch backflip is much different from a regular backflip. In a forward-facing backflip the skier rotates clockwise and spots the landing once they get beyond being 180 degrees inverted.  In a switch backflip you go off the jump backwards and rotate counter-clockwise. This means you don’t see your landing. Once the skier gets inverted they’re actually looking up, not down, hill. You’ll see this in the video when the skier is about to land. He can’t really tell how far he is from the ground.
