I managed somehow to miss this story a few days ago: it seems that Dunkin’ Donuts was urged or made the preemptive decision to pull a new series of commercials staring Food Network roller pig Rachel Ray because she was wearing the controversial (controversial in New York City at least) keffiyeh [scarf] in the commercials to look hip. Someone in the comments section of the original post on Gothamist did raise a very good point that when a celebrity shows up to a commercial shoot they don’t know what they’ll be wearing, an art director or stylist decides for them. Anyhow, Rachel Ray probably had no idea what the fuck she was wearing.
The point here, though, is that maybe–finally–all of the poseur hipster jerks in New York City will stop wearing those stupid scarves. I normally wouldn’t call something with cultural significance, as those scarves have, stupid, but the ass hats that have been wearing them around New York have the gifted ability to make all that they touch turn to conformist crap. Arrr. I hate hipsters even though I borderline am one. What sets me apart, I hope so at least, is that I do not have that lemming/sheep mentality that the jackwads I speak of have. I may happen to like sneakers and black jeans and some of the music the jackwads like but I like these things because I like them not because everyone else does.

I would love for hipsters to stop with the scarves already, but a bigger issue is how fucking stupid Americans continue to be. Controversial. It’s a fucking SCARF. It’s MEANINGLESS. So many ass clowns. so little time.
This blog makes me think about donuts all the time.
Yeah we walk that fine line but we are more like Woody Allen, “I don’t want to belong to any club that would have me as a member.”
